WINTERHELLER and Microsoft BI Stack – a powerful combination

For many years the Microsoft products have been an important basis for WINTERHELLER software. Windows has been the operating system platform
for Professional Planner since 1991. The SQL Server is the database platform most frequently used for Professional Planner and combining it with Excel is standard in controlling projects. To mark this successful cooperation, Microsoft awarded the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status to WINTERHELLER.

Last year, Microsoft combined the products SharePoint Portal Services and
the server application PerformancePoint to create a powerful product suite in
the BI and CPM area – the Microsoft BI Stack.

This platform aims to include as many users as possible into the process of information distribution and decision support. Not only experts of controlling, accounting or BI and CPM management benefit from this platform, but also all decision makers, i.e. those persons whose decisions have influence on the success of the company.

Microsoft BI Stack supports the following areas:

Distributed data gathering for planning and reporting
Distributed monitoring and analyzing (dashboards, scorecards,
OLAP analysis)
Distributed reporting

To make distributing these applications as easy as possible, Excel and Internet Explorer are used concurrently as frontends. As these tools are well-known, training effort for users is reduced to a minimum.

WINTERHELLER deploys the BI Stack as an addition to and platform for the Professional Enterprise line. The Professional Enterprise products support experts in controlling and group reporting with expertise in the areas of
planning and consolidation. The BI Stack delivers important distribution and workflow functions, with which you can implement almost unlimited users
into planning and reporting processes.

Many components of the BI Stack are included free of charge either in the Windows or in the SQL Server package, and Excel is usually installed.
